Two-night Midsummer – two days of summer, flavors & castle life
Experience the magic of Midsummer in two days at Sundbyholms Slott. Here you will celebrate the summer in a beautiful environment on the shores of Lake Mälaren – with flower garlands, generous meals and time to really enjoy your time off. The castle park’s Midsummer celebration for the public with dancing around the Midsummer pole to song and music will tentatively begin at 4:00 PM.
Day 1 – Cake party & Midsummer buffet
The stay begins with a festive Midsummer cake party. Enjoy classic strawberry cake, tasty sandwich cake, coffee or tea – and a glass of cava to toast the weekend.
Then, Midsummer celebrations await in the castle park before the evening is rounded off with a generous Midsummer buffet filled with herring, new potatoes, salmon and all the summer favorites, two main courses (meat and fish) and two desserts. A tasty tribute to the Swedish summer. We have chosen two glasses of wine for the meal and you are welcome to replace these with beer, cider or non-alcoholic alternatives.
Day 2 – Lunch & three-course dinner
After a good night's sleep and a delicious breakfast, the enjoyment continues. At lunchtime, a light and very tasty lunch is served – a gazpacho, a hearty salad, coffee and cookies. Take the opportunity to make the most of the day with a visit to the thousand-year-old Sigurd rune, Sörmland's largest rock carving, which is located a fifteen minutes' walk away. You and your party might also have time for a swim from Lake Mälaren's longest natural sandy beach or perhaps rent a bike, canoe or stand-up paddleboard from the hotel reception? There are also plenty of free activities to borrow at the reception for hotel guests, everything from kubb, boules, croquet, giant pickaxe to boxes of training equipment for outdoor training and more. The castle park is large and the hotel also has plenty of lawns for different games. Otherwise, we highly recommend a walk through our lovely beech forest. If the weather is against us, there are free indoor activities in the form of shuffleboard and air hockey in the hotel lobby near the lobby bar and in the evening also a pool table and shuffleboard in the castle's cozy cellar vault near the castle vault bar.
In the evening, an elegant three-course served dinner awaits you while the nobility and royalty look down from the castle walls. An atmospheric end to a weekend filled with summer feeling.
Day 3 – A castle breakfast and summer memories
The last morning starts with another generous breakfast buffet before it's time to say goodbye – rested, full and filled with new summer memories.
