A traditional Swedish Midsummer in a beautiful castle setting – with a cake party & all the flavors of summer

 

Celebrate one of the year’s most beloved holidays in a magical setting at Sundbyholms Slott. Here, flower wreaths, sparkling views of Lake Mälaren and classic Midsummer celebrations come together in a weekend filled with joy, community and really good food.

 

A festive Midsummer cake party
The afternoon begins with a wonderful cake party in true Midsummer spirit. Enjoy juicy strawberry cake, tasty sandwich cake and coffee or tea – and raise your glass with a glass of cava to toast the summer. A festive and generous start to the celebration!

Afterwards, a classic Midsummer celebration awaits in the castle park. There will be a dance performance and singing. Around the Midsummer pole, the air is filled with laughter, singing and a summer feeling – just as it should be.

 

A taste of a Swedish summer evening
As the evening approaches, a traditional Midsummer buffet is served with herring, new potatoes, salmon and other beloved favorites, two main courses (meat and fish) and two desserts as a grand finale. A buffet filled with flavors that are part of the Swedish summer and are enjoyed in an atmospheric castle setting. We have selected two glasses of wine that are included with your meal and you are welcome to replace these with beer, cider or non-alcoholic alternatives.

Bright summer night & long breakfast
After a day filled with celebration, a bright summer night awaits in our cozy hotel rooms. The next morning, a generous breakfast buffet is laid out - perfect to enjoy before taking a walk along the water.

 

Activities

Before and after dinner, you are welcome to the castle bar, where there is both shuffle board and a pool table. The castle terrace is a pleasant place with a splendid lake and park view for a drink before dinner. The Midsummer celebration in the castle park for the public with dancing around the Midsummer pole to song and music will tentatively begin at 4:00 p.m. In the hotel lobby there is a shuffle board and an air hockey table for those of you who want to challenge each other before the celebration gets started.

 

The Midsummer package includes:

• Overnight stay in the selected room category
• The castle's cake party with Swedish sandwich cake and strawberry cake at 1:00 PM/1:30 PM.
• 1 glass of cava for the cake party (can be exchanged for non-alcoholic).
• The castle's delicious midsummer buffet with starters, main courses and two different desserts (start time chosen at the time of booking).
• Two glasses of wine with the meal (can be exchanged for beer/non-alcoholic for those who wish).
• Breakfast buffet at the castle (start time chosen at the time of booking).

Check-in can be done from 3:00 PM on Midsummer Eve and check-out no later than 11:00 AM on Midsummer Day.

All meals are served at the castle while overnight stays are in one of our hotel buildings. There is no accommodation in the castle building.

The discounted children's prices include a cake party, Midsummer buffet, meal drink and breakfast with an extra bed in the parents' room/suite.
